FAQs
How can we help you?
Our pantry and clothing room is open Mondays and Fridays from 10 am – 12 noon.
Each new year families must bring in… Photo ID, social security cards for each person in the household, proof of residency (utility bill with current address), proof of income, which includes amount you may receive for Food Stamps.
The person whose name is on the bill can bring in their statement on the second or fourth Wednesday of each month from 10 am – 11 am to determine if they qualify for assistance. (Funds are limited and we only assist with utilities that are on disconnect, but have not yet been disconnected.)
Westminster Community Center has been actively involved with the Belmont neighborhood in New Castle since our inception. We have secured grant funding to assist with blight elimination and with this funding and support from our donors, we have taken ownership of abandoned homes. We’ve worked with local government and businesses to tear down these homes and replace them with green spaces. Westminster mows and maintains these lots. We also facilitated the building of Lowe Park, located just behind our building. This park has a shelter area and small playground and gives families a space to gather. Through caring for formerly blighted properties and establishing Lowe Park, Westminster is committed to helping the Belmont neighborhood toward a hopeful future.
There are several ways you can get involved. Contact us at 765-529-5124 for details.
